ADAM:  Connor, nice to have you here. Also, I always perform barefoot so that I can operate the loop.

(Excerpt from an interview with Proximity Station)

McCOY: Is there a general theme/mood that you find yourself writing about more than others? Love, happiness, sadness, etc...
DESAI: Umm, I guess it would be love in some capacity. I'm most intrigued by the endless permutations of human interaction.

Desai’s shirts are not only one-of-a-kind: they are also eco-friendly. “I happen to be very into the shirts because they are up-cycled—I buy used shirts at thrift stores, which I then redesign and silkscreen myself,” she says. However, Desai’s interest in the planet doesn’t cast aside the fashion aspect of her designs: “It’s great if a ‘green’ shirt can divert 20 plastic bottles from a landfill, but if it’s not cute, I’ll never wear it.”
